| The following is a report of the Kerry Convention supplied by Jason O'Connor
The A.G.M of the Kerry County Board PPUI took place in the Tralee clubhouse last Tuesday night (January 26th). After three years as Chairman, Listowel’s Kevin McCarron stepped down and was replaced by Deerpark’s Ger O’Connor. Kevin remains on as vice-chairman of the board while Julianne Broderick from Castleisland heads a newly formed sub-committee which will be responsible for running all county competitions. Some of the motions passed at the AGM include the County Board looking into the possibility of Kerry entering a team for the Munster Ladies Inter-County Championships in Castleisland, as well as each round of the Senior County Matchplay being played over 36 holes while the Bob Casey has been changed to a team of five with two gross and two nett scores to count for each team. It is also hoped to bring back the Inter-Club Matchplay during the summer months.
